I want to formally welcome little baby Charlotte to our family blogspot. I thought of emailing photos, but that became too cumbersome, so this idea has seemed to work out better for me, though I still don't know how to make it all look pretty.
Anyway, Charlotte was born January 3, 2009 at 9:41 p.m. weighing 8 lbs 2 oz and was 22 inches long. She came in a mighty hurry just two hours after arriving at the hospital. There was no doctor/midwife for the delivery. Mommy and Charlotte did all the work ourselves, and little Charlotte delivered right onto the bed with no hands to catch her. Thank heavens there were no complications. Mommy didn't get anything to help the pain, it was an all natural delivery baby. My only words to describe the pain are crazy scary.
Charlotte is a very good baby. She sleeps most the time. She feeds well and is growing. The very surprising thing about Charlotte is that she has a head full of very noticeable red hair, and we love it. Her (my) most cherished gifts thus far are the crocheted blanket her mommy made, the quilt her grandma Johnson made, and the cutest little hat and booties my cousin Rachel made and sent us.

We had so much fun on our hike to Praying Hand at the Superstition Mountains. It was fun to have Klint's parents and April and her boys join us on our hike. The weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed the desert. Liberty could tells us all the names of the different cactus. She knew the cholla, prickly pear, and the suguaro that I can't spell right now. We hope you enjoy our pictures.
