First Water hike, by Superstition Mountains

We went out for a little fresh air a few weeks ago. I don't think we got more than a half mile in. It was Liberty's first hike out of the pack, and mine being 8 months pregnant. Daddy carried Liberty most of the way, but we still had a great time. I'll add a video as well, but mind you it's pretty long. It was just fun to hear her talk.

The best comment she made on this hike was her observation of horse poop. I told her not to step in it, and she said, "horsey needs a diaper."

Oh, by the way, we should all go to this trail head again sometime. It was very beautiful.

First Snow

We had our first snow tonight and could not resist throwing a few snowballs!!!

Paper Chain

We made a paper chain from old homework today for how many days are left until California.  

My kids are really excited and can't believe there are only 17 days left!!!!

Brinly's Birthday Bash

The BBQ Birthday Bash will be held Saturday the 20th. If dad comes then of course it would be a combined birthday party! YEAH MORE FUN:)

It's a home with many showers so feel free to bring a change of clothes for the ride home, while your there, whatever!

Food will be provided. Don't worry about bringing anything unless someone is willing to make cowboy caviar:)

I guess he's pretty confident about himself and never silently sang this to himself in elementary school.   :)

Butterflies

We went to the Botanical Gardens to see the Butterfly exhibit, and they were literally landing all around us and some on us. I hope you enjoy the pictures from my camera. Logan was the primary photographer. Great job Logan!

Dragon Fights

Dragon Fights! This fight was the second. It appears more like a dance than a fight, which is good for Mimi's dragon...because in the first dragon fight Dragon Johnson attacked Mimi's dragon and fought a good fight - which resulted in Mimi's dragon crashing to the ground. Don't worry, her dragon was just fine.

A few pics from a windy Sunday afternoon in Mesa, AZ - flying kites high. We discovered that it's not a good idea to let babies fly the kite when the winds are really strong - Klint had to run a half mile to catch up with the kite that Liberty let go of - and it would have gone several miles if it weren't for the barbed wire fense on the other side of the HOA wall.

Brent: Someone knocked on our door during one of my tv shows and some how I was the one who had to get up and answer it. I dragged my feet to the door, opened it, and was pleasantly surprised to find a group of cute older boys. One of them cracked a joke right off and since then I haven't spent more than 30 seconds with Brent and not heard a funny joke, wise crack, silly story, or been impressed by a really cool magic trick. The coolest thing about Brent is that he'll teach you his magic tricks.I knew he was going to marry April.

Sarah: I kept hearing all of these great things about "Sarah this, and Sarah that." And how everyone liked her way more than any of Ron's previous girlfriends. I was probably almost as nervous for Sarah to spend a whole week in Lake Powell with our family as she was. We drove up into the parking lot of Casa Blanca and there was this pretty blond girl who seemed too nervous to even get out of the car. This was probably because the whole family couldn't stop starring at her 1) she was so pretty and 2) we all knew Ronnie was going to pop the q at Lake Powell. From the way she stuck to Ronnie like glue, I knew she would marry him.

Alex: beautiful, strong, funny, and smart(mouth). I liked her, and I knew she was going to marry Phillippe.

Todd: who is this guy? I liked Todd (i liked all of you right off--but I had never really liked any of Camille's boyfriends before so it was surprising). From the moment we met he's been almost as enthusiastic about setting me up with "Mr. Right" as mom has. Todd was cool because he was into soccer, really nice, and funny. He has a great laugh; it seems like he can ease up any tense situation by just laughing at it. He enjoys life and makes it more enjoyable for others.

Klint: I first heard about Klint while walking to and from campus one spring semester. I'd call Janet and she'd tell me all the thoughtful and cute things that Klint would do for her, and I'd say, "You better marry him." Then after they got married and I finally met him, I was like, "wow, I was sooo right." Just like all my in-laws, they were perfect for each other. Klint is always looking out to see how he can help someone. I like that.

So as you can see, you're all beautiful people who I loved from the start. And most importantly, I knew from the moment I saw (heard about) you, that you were the ones for my siblings. (don't worry, i got the message from the world wide leadership training broadcast. i know there's no such thing as "the one" but, i have to admit that it is a test of my faith when i see how perfect each of you are together)

Super Tuesday

We had our first major snow storm.  It left us with over 2' of snow.  It took us almost 4 hours to get the snow off of our driveway.

In-Law Impressions

MarJan - devoted mother and wife, anxious for me to take Janet off the single's ward rolls. A busy body that never stops and is always looking for the silver lining (even when there isn't one:-). Very conscious of everyone, even if her mind appears to be someplace else.
Volker - vocally surprised that I would want to marry Janet...and I was constantly scratching my head to know why...but grateful and understanding and supportive just the same.
Brent - Jolly green giant, HO, HO, Ho - I'm the fun uncle, brother-in-law, and die hard conservative that can fix and build anything. what? You're conservative as well - OK, you can marry my sister-in-law then.
April - beloved and close sister of Janet. An anchor of strength to her family.
Camille - "Hi, I just got married and love my husband...please marry my sister." "Oh, that's so sweet the way you love my sister...we love you becuase you love her." She was very lovely:-).
Todd - Apparently he's not very affectionate with his wife...or so the rumor had it. Seems nice enough, sometimes says things a bit strange for mixed company, but a good man. Didn't get to talk to him much because he was always attached to Camille – seems pretty affectionate to me. Eager to please…even if he doesn’t know what others want.
Mimi - Although she was over 25 at the time she seemed to be screaming..."Hi, I'm 19 without a care in the world...nice to meet you, I've got to go play somewhere now." Always making the children laugh, but yet tenderly caring for them at the same time.
Phillippe - Loves his kids, extremely talented, and intelligent to boot. Very generous and always looking for a good time and a different way in which he can express his talents. Constantly on the go, Go, GO!
Ronnie - fun loving father and husband. Always happy and cheerful. Makes sacrifices for his family and would do anything to keep his kids from feeling down. A calm individual, but in a happy sort of way. Seems to be a walking counselor (always listening to others and providing good advice upon request).
Sarah - quite, but a very devoted and loving mother and wife. Loves her extended family and always a friend to everyone.

Of course, this is just my reflections of my initial impressions of everyone (as I believe that is what I was supposed to do). Several of my in-laws have been quite difficult to get to know - some of whom I think I'd say that I still don't know them well - mostly due to geographical distance. But I love you all and believe you to be my actual family in a very literal sense. The term “in-law" is somewhat of a misnomer in a family that is sealed together through the Priesthood - as we are now eternally bound together. Which makes me that much more happy because I really scored with such a wonderful and incredibly supportive "in-law" family. Thank you for all you do for me and my family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMILLE!!!!!!

We all had such a fun time celebrating Camille's birthday. Jocy was especially happy to sing the birthday song twice and help blow out the candles.

The lemon cupcakes were a hit and hit many of our spots as well. Needless to say we ate them all. Klint made a splecial (from scratch) icing that was to die for.
Thanks Camille for having a birthday.
Oh, and who knew, Camille is a champion Ligretto player.

wedding weekend in Utah

It was so cool to see so many of our family in Utah supporting Paul's wedding. Let's face it, it was
fun just to get away. Bill's singing machine was a hit. Brent and Grandma really got into it and
made us all laugh and smile. The babies couldn't have been more cute together.
